Kvitebjørn pre-compression project award
Fabricom has in cooperation with Bergen Group Rosenberg been awarded a contract by Statoil for offshore modifications on the Kvitebjørn platform.

The contract, which is an EPCIC contract (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation & Commissioning), involves modifications to the Kvitebjørn platform to improve its compression capacity. The contract also includes modifications to Kvitebjørn for tie in of the future Valemon platform.
The contract value is estimated to be between 1 and 1,5 billion NOK. The work will commence immediately and the project is scheduled to be completed during the winter of 2014.
The Kvitebjørn Field is a gas field located about 130 km west of Sognefjorden in block 34/11, close to the Gullfaks field on the Norwegian continental shelf in the North Sea. Kvitebjørn is built with a fixed platform with a steel chassis and is fully integrated with the derrick, processing facilities and living quarters. Water depth in the area is around 190 meters. Production started in 2003, and the reservoir is about 4000 meters deep.
